We were not born to waste our lives scrolling. I believe we came here to create.

Dear INFPs and/or fellow highly sensitive persons (HSPs), are you feeling the weight of the world, stuck in an over-stimulated loop of headlines, compassion fatigue, and sensory overload? Well then, this journal entry is a wake-up call to protect your life force from the numbing drain of the scroll!

Our true purpose isn't about consuming the world. It’s about being creative beings who bring beauty and light into reality. One of our biggest obstacles is "inhaling" too much information until we feel suffocated. So let’s dive in and find our creative "exhale". It doesn’t have to be the usual creative activities, but can be simple, accessible things like cooking or journaling, or crocheting dishcloths (which is my favourite)!

Choosing to create is the most courageous way to process the heavy emotions we face these days, and I hope this journal entry gives you the permission to reclaim your life force from the machine!

✨ I’m curious, what’s one small thing your soul is calling you to create today? Share it below!

Next ▶️ If you are struggling to find your way back from a heavy state, this journal entry explores how to recover when you feel completely overwhelmed: "Emotionally overwhelmed? Here's how to recover" (https://youtu.be/LygOb6lUORY)

XOXO,
Kate Harmony

🌿 About Kate Harmony 🌿

My main channel (Hack Music Theory) has over 250K subscribers and 10 million views. I've been a full-time YouTuber since 2017 and launched this personal channel (Lightbearer's Library) in 2025, where I'm making video versions of my journal entries.

Some of my favourite topics to talk about are practical philosophy, positive psychology, and personality type (I'm an INFP). But honestly, my journals contain counter-cultural thoughts about everything, so expect the unexpected! I also share practical ways I'm improving my mental health, with the hope that you might find them useful too.

I deleted all my social media accounts over 10 years ago, so I offer a loving perspective that's free from the divisive language commonly found in feeds nowadays.

If this sounds like your cup of tea, then I warmly welcome you into the Lightbearer's Library. Stay for a while, and please remember to subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCV2wps4NID9rrO08OuwZ5Lg?sub_confirmation=1

Speaker

Hello, dear soul, and welcome to the Light bearer's Library. In today's journal entry, I want to talk about scrolling. Scrolling isn't just a waste of our life force and our soul energy and our time here on this planet. It's also a form of over-stimulation and numbing ourselves. So we can then have compassion fatigue if we're looking at stuff going on in the world out there and there's a lot of stuff going on. You know, we can have sensory overload. We can be filled with all sorts of emotions as we were, you know, if you're scrolling the headlines of fear, anxiety, all sorts of things. And, you know, even physical sensations of headaches, or we can have upset tummies if we're eating while scrolling, like that's never a good idea. Yeah. Um, so if we think about this, this consumption, right? What is scrolling? It's it's consuming through the eyes or the ears, right? You know, I often see all the dog walkers, all the people, they've all got earbuds in, and it's like they're consuming. So all of that consumption is, let's say, a form of inhale. We're taking in information. And so if there's no exhale, then we get we get kind of congested. And that's why we get over overstimulated, overwhelmed. So the what we need to do is we need to have some exhale. And that's like a releasing and a processing of those things. And I would argue that the best way to do that is to create. So we're we're making something, we're putting something out into the world as opposed to to consuming the world. And then so without, I think without this, this, this balance or ratio, I've been kind of thinking about it as a as a ratio, um, then we I feel like our soul gets sick. Our soul didn't come here to just consume content and scroll. And like it came to to make something, to, to create, you know, we're creative beings. That's my belief anyway, you know. Um, and so we need to find ways of expressing what we're taking in, right? And it and it helps us to process what it is that's going on out in there in the world, you know, to to channel that that those emotions and that energy in in creative ways. Creativity is it can be anything that's that's for you, like cooking can be a creative thing, right? It's everything if we if we look at it that way and we channel our all that stuff that we're consuming can be can be creative. And so by not scrolling, by stepping away from lessening the scrolling, we're preserving our life force that is needed to create something good, something beautiful for the world. Um, and it really, you know, because so often the scrolling can happen because we're feeling anxious or feeling overwhelmed or feeling like, you know, too, our life is too much or whatever, right? So we're we're we're looking to scroll too kind of numb, to not think, to not process, to not deal with things. So, you know, I just I think we just need to be much more aware of why we're doing things and be more intentional with what we're taking in, and then you know, having a balance of some sort, you know, whatever that might be for you. It's like maybe you maybe you actually make a ratio for yourself. It's like if I do an hour of scrolling, then I need to do 15 minutes of of creation, whatever that is. But I would suggest that there's better ways of of when we're feeling that that anxiety or panic or fear or overwhelm with the world that we don't do more scrolling because that will only lead to worse. So what I do is I just pick up my crochet hook and I make I make these dishcloths. I just it's because it's easy, it's like the same stitch over and over again, and I can just it calms my mind. My hands are busy instead of, you know, like I I'm not on social media and I don't I don't really scroll, so this is not I'm just it's but I I feel you. I feel anyone, and and it's not that I don't get lost sometimes in looking for a podcast to listen to sometimes. Um, but I'm just I try to be very mindful of that that addictive creeping in and like it's like it's like a creeping, you know, it's just like ooh, you I know you want to scroll. I know you want to. So we just need to, yeah, be much more mindful because I think that our soul did not come here to sit and waste our our life force scrolling. And the world needs much more beauty and much more creativity. So whether that's journaling or or you know, whatever, whatever, I would love to hear from you in the comments about what it is that is calling your soul is calling you to create, you know, in your in your daily life. And it can be so small, right? Just just but put it into your day, you know, something, something creative, the exhale, the processing, the creation. Otherwise, we're just inhaling and stuffing ourselves and and and you know, kind of suffocating on so much information and whatever. And it's like, well, no wonder, no wonder. So we need to exhale, exhale, and I'm suggesting that that exhale is through creativity and being creating something as opposed to consuming something. Okay, well, if this was helpful to you, please do give me a thumbs up and subscribe to the Light bearer's Library. I would love to have you here. Well, I'm wishing you so many blessings, dear soul. Signing off for now, XOXO Kate.
