Are you a sensitive soul feeling "deadened" by an internal winter and looking for the courage to not give up?

Hello dear soul, and welcome to the Lightbearer’s Library. As an INFP and/or highly sensitive person (HSP), it can feel like the cold snowy winter outside is reflecting how we feel inside—sort of deadened and lethargic. In this journal entry, I share my personal struggle with these heavy feelings and why I’m using a simple children’s book, "The Carrot Seed", as 'emotional first aid' to help me not give up.

We explore how child-like faith is a powerful form of resistance and a courageous refusal to give up on our dreams. Whether it’s choosing a new creative hobby, practicing stillness, or setting boundaries with technology, these are the small seeds that create big changes. It’s time to refuse the chaos and trust that our internal springtime is coming. Just like the little boy in the story, we can plant our vision today and know that, eventually, it will come up. Only don't give up!

✨ What is one "small seed" you are planting for your own personal springtime? (Or just leave a 🌿 to let me know you're planting seeds of hope with me!)

🌿 About 🌿

Welcome to the Lightbearer’s Library. A quiet space for sensitive souls.

If the world feels too loud. if you feel things deeply. If you’ve ever wondered if you’re “too much”—you’re not alone.

I share video journal entries exploring the inner world of INFPs and Highly Sensitive People (HSPs)—each one offering wisdom for navigating life’s quieter, deeper path.

I’ve been a full-time YouTuber since 2017 (Hack Music Theory—250K subscribers), but this space is different. Slower. More personal. It’s about a shared journey of becoming.

My perspective is shaped by living social-media-free for 10+ years—choosing inner wisdom over the algorithm. I believe in exploring meaning beyond traditional structures, trusting our intuition, and finding peace within ourselves.

Stay for a while.

XOXO,
Kate Harmony

Hello, dear soul, and welcome to the Light Bears Library. In today's Journal Entree, I want to talk about planting seeds because I have been in a state of feeling like giving up the last few days. Because winter here in southern Alberta, Canada, in the north, has been cold and snowy, and it's March. And I'm sorry, but I'm tired. I'm tired of it. And I just feel like the outside right now is a reflection of inside. I feel sort of deadened inside and lethargic. Not sleeping the last few nights doesn't help. Okay, so that that is, you know, that's that's for reels. I need to, that needs to be priority number one. But the outside is reflecting the inside. And I am, I, I, we have to be courageous and brave and break through those, those, those negative spiraling thoughts that try and drag us down into hopelessness and to giving up. And, you know, I'm not giving up. I'm here today. I recorded this once and realized that I didn't hit record. So here we are, not giving up. And so I would encourage you not to give up as well, because I think that dreaming and envisioning a better life for ourselves or something that is in our heart and our soul that we we we know we are here to to to to create or to do with our lives. That's it's it's such a powerful form of resistance to the outer chaos in the world that is just trying to to bring us to chaos inside. And it I I refuse. I refuse. I refuse. So it's something that we have the power to do. We have the power to plant seeds for our springtime. It's a rule, it's a law, right? That after winter comes spring. It always has our entire lives. So, um, you know, in the outer world and reflect, maybe take some time to journal. And because I find this helpful, to reflect on times when it has been winter in our own lives, and that spring has always arrived when things are hard and difficult and we feel like giving up. There has been times of renewal and springtime and you know, more joy and more bountiful relationships and so on. So that's a helpful thing to do. But I wanted to share with you a story that really brings me so much hope and faith, and I hope it will to you as well. It's a children's book called The Carrot Seed. The story is written by Ruth Krause, and the pictures are by Crockett Johnson. So if you're on the podcast, come over to YouTube and you can see the picture book. So, a little boy planted a carrot seed. His mother said, I'm afraid it won't come up. His father said, I'm afraid it won't come up. And his big brother said, It won't come up. Every day the little boy pulled up the weeds around the seed and sprinkled the ground with water. But nothing came up. And nothing came up. Everyone kept saying it wouldn't come up. But he still pulled up the weeds around it every day and sprinkled the ground with water. And then one day a carrot came up. Just as the little boy had known it would. So, the carrot seed. That's what I want us to be thinking about in our own lives. Is what what seeds can we be planting for the springtime that is maybe where you are, maybe it's coming in the southern hemisphere. You can still plant seeds in the fall, ready for them to come up in the spring. And some places around the world you can plant seeds all year round and they'll come up. What a miracle that is. But planting seeds and a vision for a future that is more hopeful and more joyful, more creative, whatever it is that our heart and our soul is calling us to, it doesn't have to be a massive life change, right? It can be a commitment to a new creative hobby, a boundary with technology, a daily practice of stillness. All of these things are just small little little seeds that we can plant right now for that will create bigger change in our future, you know, a practice of stillness of, you know, a couple minutes, five minutes a day, whatever it is, you know, will help our lives and our internal selves to be more and more calm, which is what we need in this world, because seriously, it's chaos out there. Um uh well, it's winter out here. It's not chaos, it's winter. If it's still winter where you are, please please comment. And you know, I know I have a friend who's here in Alberta as well, and we're waiting. We're waiting for spring. Um so I would love to know what is one small seed that you are planting for your own personal springtime that is coming. This can be actual seeds. I love gardening and actually planting seeds, but I'm thinking more metaphorically, what seeds are you planting for your own vision of your own life, you know? Um, I'm hoping for more, I'm wanting to plant more music in my life. That's, you know, I used to sing and play a lot of music, and it brought me so much joy and it's just my soul is longing to sing right now. And I, yeah. Anyway, that's something I'm I'm planting in there. And um, yeah, if this was if this was encouraging to you today, please do give me a thumbs up and subscribe to the Light Bears Library. I would love to have you here. Okay, well, I'm wishing you so many blessings, dear soul. Signing off for today, XOXO Kate.
